Banana Paniyaram With Wheat Flour
Here’s a simple recipe to make Banana Paniyaram with Wheat Flour:
Ingredients:
Ripe bananas: 2 (medium-sized)
Wheat flour: 1 cup
Jaggery: ½ cup (adjust to taste)
Grated coconut: 2 tbsp (optional)
Cardamom powder: ½ tsp
Baking soda: 1 pinch (optional, for softness)
Salt: 1 pinch
Water: as needed (to adjust batter consistency)
Ghee or oil: for frying
Instructions:
Prepare the Batter:
Mash the ripe bananas into a smooth paste using a fork.
Add jaggery to the mashed bananas and mix well until dissolved. You can add a little warm water if needed to melt the jaggery.
Add wheat flour, grated coconut, cardamom powder, a pinch of salt, and baking soda (if using). Mix to form a thick, smooth batter.
Add water gradually if needed to adjust the consistency. It should be pourable but not runny.
Heat the Paniyaram Pan:
Heat a paniyaram pan (appe pan) on medium flame and grease each cavity with a little ghee or oil.
Cook the Paniyaram:
Pour a small ladle of batter into each cavity, filling them about ¾ full.
Cover and cook on low to medium flame for 2–3 minutes or until the bottom turns golden brown.
Flip each paniyaram using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side until golden.
Serve:
Remove the cooked paniyarams from the pan and repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve warm as a snack or dessert. You can enjoy it plain or with honey or a drizzle of ghee.
